Continental X Chromjuwelen: Videos
It has been long overdue that we compile a video of all our brand ambassador media work that we did for Continental. From our early (awkward) beginnings 'til now. So, here it is. Enjoy.
It has been long overdue that we compile a video of all our brand ambassador media work that we did for Continental. From our early (awkward) beginnings 'til now. So, here it is. Enjoy.
In this context I would like to send out a big thank-you to all the people who made this happen (in alphabetical order): Carsten Brix (cinematographer), Dean Malay (deluma productions), Dennis Petermann (autobild.tv), Christian Suhr (Filmfreunde) and Jan Wigger (cinematographer). And of course to Kai Rühling (Continental) — who wasn't afraid to handle our neurosis. Props go as well to JC Chaix, my personal "Principal Word Basher" aka "Ralf's Crazy Shit Dept.". Dude, you know what I am talking about.
In this context I would like to add two more videos: A short version of "Continental Extreme" and a Chinese bootleg of our "Chromjuwelen Road Movie". The first one was compiled because the full version of Continental Extreme may be way to long to catch the message, the second one was done by our Chinese colleagues of Continental.
If if you like our videos — follow our brand-new (re-activated) YouTube-Channel!
Continental Extreme: Chromjuwelen En Route Road Movie
And finally — here it is. Our "Continental Extreme" video. The latest Chromjuwelen En Route road movie starring five German blokes on a Motorkultur-expedition. Intention: To draw an analogy between Las Vegas (SEMA) and Dubai (Motor Show).
Co-starring among others not only our 1964 Imperial Crown, but also family and friends like Klaus Rasch (race-dezert.com), Mike Musto (ridelust.com), Ryan Friedlinghaus (West Coast Customs), Sven Gramm (BRABUS), Bear Garcia (Hooligan Customz), Frederik Faidhi (Select Nano), Sam Badawi (1000 Dunes), David Mitri (1000 Dunes) and Phil McGovern (crankandpiston.com).
Thanks to everyone who joined our film premiere at the EAST Hotel in Hamburg. We had a blast!
1964 Imperial Crown: The Eagle Has Landed
Our 1964 Imperial Crown, which we bought during our "Continental Extreme" trip last year, has meanwhile arrived in Hamburg, Germany. Good to welcome our old fellow, which is one of the main actors in our upcoming "Continental Extreme" video, in our hometown!
I know: Having something is better than needing something. But with the Imperial I have too many projects in my garage. So — anybody interested in a 1972 Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 3.5 W108 or a 1972 Pontiac "LeSupra" LeMans Project? Just shoot me an email if you are looking for a perfect familiy Chromjuwel or — if you have got the guts — a Pearl Harbour Muscle Car.
BTW — we are on the home stretch with our 70 minutes video (Los Angeles - Las Vegas - Dubai). We will showcase the video next week in Hamburg, so it is time to put on your dancing shoes and celebrate the online roll out with us!
Continental Extreme: Chromjuwelen En Route Travelogue
You may still remember our last Chromjuwelen En Route tour called "Continental Extreme". And if you do so, you probably wonder what happened to us and our self-attempt with the 1964 Imperial Crown. And why you have never heard any time later about that project. Here is the simple answer: It took us donkey's years to sight our material. And to understand what happened. In Los Angeles, in Las Vegas, in Dubai.

3000 photos and several hard drives filled with video material later we get a breath of an idea: WE HAD A BLAST! We just published our (German) travelogue, including a selection of 332 photos ("Los Angeles, Las Vegas (SEMA 2011)", "Dubai (Dubai Motor Show)"). So is time to get lost. Our Chromjuwelen En Route Road Movie will follow in January.
At this point we would like to thank once again some guys for their help:
Klaus Rasch (race-dezert.com): Thanks for helping us buying and overhauling the Mopar! And thanks for feeling like home every time we are in LA.
Mike Musto (mrangryinc.com, ridelust.com): Dude. This has been the fourth time (!) I was trying to ride your #§%#* Winged Warrior. And I failed again. It must be jinxed. But you know what? I will keep on trying. Hell Yeah.
Frederik Faidhi (select-nano.ae): If you will ever be in Deutschland ... can you help us polishing our Imperial Crown? Just kidding. Thanks for your open sesame!
Phil McGovern (crankandpiston.com): Damn. We have to come back. And not only for the reason we have to do this dune thing with you guys.
Mates – we take a bow.
Chromjuwelen Brand Ambassadorship extended by Continental
Holy cow! Our Chromjuwelen Brand Ambassadorship just has been extended for another year by Continental. If you don't fear a German article, follow this link.
We could not be prouder. That's awesome!
Chromjuwelen En Route: Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Dubai
The most stupid mistake you ever can make? Buy a typical "needs some TLC" and "runs and drives" car and hope it will take you from A to B. Ha – we just did that. Deliberately. In our case A is Los Angeles, B stands for Las Vegas. And the car is a 1964 Chrysler Imperial Crown. Mopar or no car.
We are in preparation for take-off. Our mission is to shoot another Chromjuwelen Road Movie. Destinations: Los Angeles (October 31 till November 2), Las Vegas (SEMA Show; November 3-6), Dubai (Dubai Motor Show; November 7-12). Motto: Continental Extreme.
If you are interested how far the Imp' will take us – or if wanna join us – just hook up on our Instagram, Tumblr or Twitter. Btw, we are still looking for car culture stories in Dubai (underground, drift, off-road). Unfortunately our contact to Dubai is broken down. If you have got a tip, just shoot us an email!
Continental and Chromjuwelen at the IBM Social Business JamCamp
I just had the honor of being one of the keynote speakers at the IBM Sociel Business JamCamp. Yep — IBM. My job: presenting our Continental Brand Ambassadorship, which we hold since over a year. And explaining how we use "Social Media".
It was very interesting. We are used to present our work to potential partners, but this was our first time we showcased our work in a completely differnt "social" context. Just in case you are interested — here are my (German) slides.

General Tire Ad
Wow. It still works. We just found out we are still able to work for dead tree media. Although we hang on the interwebs 24/7.
This is our latest ad we did for General Tire Germany. The ad—photo taken by Dirk "Pixeleye" Behlau during our trip to the General Tire Mint 400 2010—will be published in the german Street Magazine. It promotes our 1972 General Tire International Harvester Scout II as well, which we will bring to the Baja 300 Powerdays. Meet us there!
Chromjuwelen Road Movie: 44 minutes and 44 seconds

Please check out Chromjuwelen.com for more details.

SEMA Show 2010: Photos, Articles and More
OK, SEMA is over. And we are already back in Germany. But it is never too late for ultra slammed mini trucks, imposing restomods and awesome hot rods. Just hit this link to see what we brought back.
Some may have already seen our article ("SEMA Show Las Vegas 2010: Vorbildliche Kulturpflege") on Chromjuwelen.com. Our colleagues from autobild.de posted our coverage as well: "Tuning-Meisterstücke in Las Vegas". We also just received a call that GRIP, a German TV Motor Magazine, covered us working. Check out Min. 6:20 in their "SEMA Show 2010 report". What a coincidence!
At this moment we are working on our reportages about the OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational, our test drive at the Lucas Oil Off Road Series and our interview with Alex Anderson (West Coast Customs (LA)). Stay tuned.
What a mindblowing trip. A huge "thank you" to our partners from Continental for letting us go out into the world. Wow. We love our job. Did we mentioned that already?
SEMA Show 2010: Sneak Preview
Yes. We are still alive. We are back from our overseas trip and brought along a ton of material — SEMA Show 2010, Lucas Oil Off Road Race, OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational, West Coast Customs (Los Angeles) — which wants to get chopped. Aside from that we visited the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for some oval track sports and dragracing and finally paid Rinkens a visit.
I bet it will not get boring the next days. Stay tuned.
SEMA Show 2010. We will be there.
Soon we will be back on the road again—we will visit the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Also we will attend the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing. Yepp. We are hooked on desert racing.
Just shoot us an e-mail if you want to meet us!
We have seen the paradise: Contidrom
The German "Youngtimer" Rallye Creme21 brought us today to the test track Contidrom (Continental). We have to come back. Under all circumstances.

Hamburger Stadtpark-Revival: Pictures
After our first coming out in Winsen, the traditional "Stadtpark-Rennen" was the next date on our "GT Scout"-tour. If you ever wanted to know what Maserati, Porsche, Alfa Romeo, Mercedes-Benz or Volkswagen paint our town red, you should visit the Hamburg Stadtpark-Revival. For more classic car beauties visit our gallery.
